ABOUT KILOMETRES OF COMPASSION
Kilometres of Compassion (KMs of Compassion) is the ASRC’s flagship community fundraising event for those who are passionate about physical activity, or want to give it a try.
If you relish the buzz of a big event, you can join Team ASRC to do your KMs of Compassion at the Melbourne Marathon Festival, Bridge to Brisbane, Sydney Running Festival or any other public event of your choice.
But if you prefer to exercise in your preferred location, with your favourite exercise buddies, doing a physical activity of your choice – then watch this space for information about the 2023 ASRC Challenge! There is plenty of choice for everyone. It is one day, your way. The ASRC Challenge can be what you want it to be.

- 3.6km for the 36 new people supported to secure work with ASRC’s social enterprises last year
- 5.5km for the approx. 5,500 health appointments the ASRC provides each year

- 18km for the number of people released from detention on visas last year
- 43km for the number of protection visas the ASRC helped secure in 2020-21

Cycle
- 47km for the number of households the ASRC supports per month with their basic needs
- 86km for the percentage of people seeking asylum accessing our services with no income
- 119km for the number of children the ASRC supports each week with nappies and baby wipes

Swim
- 514m for the number of people the ASRC provides housing for each year
- 1,087m for the number people who access the ASRC foodbank each week
- 2,300m for the number of people supported through the ASRC casework team each year
- 5,500m for the approx. number of health appointments the ASRC provides each year

Dance
- 86 minutes for the percentage of ASRC members with no income
- 119 minutes for the number of children the ASRC supports each week with nappies and baby wipes
- 256 minutes for the number of job placements the ASRC secures each year

Yoga
- 119 minutes for the number of children the ASRC supports each week with nappies and baby wipes
- 256 minutes for the number of job placements the ASRC secures each year
- 418 minutes for the number of households the ASRC foodbank supports each week
